Taylor Lansdale

The best songs convince you they're memories.

Taylor Lansdale hails from Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, where the rolling hills of horse country give way to the mountains of eastern Kentucky. His songs reflect a sense of in-between, with folk and bluegrass influences meeting heartland and southern rock drive. Think Isbell, Prine, and Petty. Pairing a piercing voice with emotionally jarring songwriting, he has quickly become of Kentucky’s songwriters to watch.

Art is qualitative, but results are not. In the last year, Lansdale has added several songwriting achievements to his resume.

·         Kerrville Folk Festival New Folk Contest - Finalist

·         Black Mountain Film Festival - Win

·         Sleeping in the Woods Festival Contest - Top 20

·         Hollar Holler Songwriting Contest - Co-winner

Lansdale is set to play the Flood with Love and River to Grow festivals and earned a coveted slot in Kentucky Music Hall of Fame's Songwriter Rounds. He’s been featured on podcasts including Wick's Picks, Roots Music Rambler, First Spin, and Hollar N' Kentucky, as well as several regional radio programs. Having now received more than 60,000 Spotify streams and a nomination for Americana/Folk Album of the Year at the Josie Music Awards, his reputation is beginning to spread.

In 2026, Taylor is taking his songs to venues and festivals in Kentucky, West Virginia, Ohio, and Nebraska, and Texas. His new EP, Wild Ride, was released on May 7th.

This is music for anyone who loves honest songwriting and the kind of performances that make you stop what you are doing and just listen. It lingers after it’s over, leaving you wanting more, a sign of a songwriter worth following.”

Music on the Rox

I know the easy comparison here is Jason Isbell, so let’s go ahead and say that right away. Let’s also talk about how remarkable it is that anyone can be this close to an Isbell style of Americana” - Greg Jones
